For over 35 years, John Wear, aka "JD", has supported engineering and scientific computing at Ohio State. JD started his professional career in 1983 in the College of Engineering, working in the old Koffolt Unit Ops where he shared an office with a VAX 11/780 and several PDP-11 computers. Later he worked for Mechanical Engineering, ESL, Physics, and Chemistry & Biochemistry before taking a position in ETS in 2016.
JD's interests are in HPC/HTC, cloud computing, and 800-171 compliance. His work duties focus on facilitation of computing resources for CoE researchers.
JD has a BS in Mathematics and an MA in Public Policy & Management, both from OSU. He also has certifications in AWS, ITIL, LabVIEW, and MCTS.
