Dr. Praneeth Kandlakunta is a Research Assistant Professor in Nuclear Engineering Program within the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department at OSU. Dr. Kandlakunta received both his MS (2012) and Ph. D. (2014) degrees in Nuclear Engineering from OSU. He received his BE (Honors) degree (2008) in Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science-Pilani in India. He received his postdoctoral training in medical physics at the Washington University in St. Louis, where he specialized in finite element thermal modeling and analysis of x-ray tube target materials for high-power x-ray sources, design and construction of a high-power distributed x-ray source, detector development for proton dose verification, and Monte Carlo simulations for radiotherapy dose calculations. He has extensive experience in electronics and nuclear instrumentation, radiation measurements, and evaluation of semiconductor and scintillation detectors. His major research interests are in applications of nuclear and radiation physics, including radiation detection, nuclear instrumentation and radiation sensor development, and developed of pulsed x-ray sources. He has published several peer-reviewed articles in various journals and conference proceedings.
