Yang Han is a research scientist in the William G. Lowrie Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at The Ohio State University.  He received his B.S. in chemical engineering from Tianjin University, China, and later earned his Ph.D. in chemical engineering under the guidance of Dr. W.S. Winston Ho at Ohio State.  His research expertise primarily centers around molecular separation, with a specific emphasis on the utilization of polymeric membranes for crucial, energy-intensive separation processes, including CO₂ capture from flue gas, syngas purification, and chemical separations.  He has received recognitions for his contributions to membrane research, including the 2018 American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) Separations Division Graduate Research Award and the 2019 North American Membrane Society (NAMS) Young Membrane Scientist Award.
