Dupaix, Rebecca

Biography

Rebecca Dupaix is a Professor in the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department at Ohio State University.  She completed her PhD in Mechanical Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2003.  Her research focuses on the mechanical behavior of polymers and soft biological tissues.  She received a CAREER award from the National Science Foundation in 2008 for her work to improve polymer manufacturing processes across multiple length scales.  Her soft tissue work includes applications ranging from injury biomechanics to neural prosthesis design.  Her success in the classroom has resulted in two teaching awards:  the Excellence in Teaching award from OSU’s Mechanical Engineering Industrial Advisory Board and the student-nominated Above and Beyond award from Pi Tau Sigma.  She enjoys teaching classes in statics, mechanics of materials, applied finite element analysis, and continuum mechanics.
