At the Center for Automotive Research, Dr. Chrstos does research in vehicle dynamics, with an emphasis on full vehicle dynamic simulation and tire modeling.

Outside of the Ohio State University, Dr. Chrstos is head of JPC Engineering, where he specializes in road vehicle handling dynamics, vehicle simulation, tire modeling, data analysis, test program development, and parameter measurements. He has experience with passenger cars, heavy trucks, and racing cars. He has worked with major automotive companies racing activities since 1998.  This work focuses on applying vehicle simulation technology to study the handling and performance of passenger and racing vehicles.  Currently, the major portion of this effort is applying driver-in-the-loop simulator technology to high performance passenger vehicles.  This is part of a broader technology transfer area between racing and product development. Dr. Chrstos has developed simulation technology in the CART, Formula One, NASCAR, and Grand-AM series’.  He also does extensive tire force and moment testing and modeling.
